myStarbucks by Starbucks Coffee Company

photo(2)
I'll be the first to admit that, when it comes to a great cup of coffee, Starbucks just isn't all that high up on my list to reach for. When there are so many different independent cafes to choose from, settling for something not-as-great just because it's famous doesn't cut it for me. Even if there is a Starbucks on practically every street corner in Vancouver.

That said, I can say that Starbucks has an excellent sense of style— from the decor of their locations, to the sleeves wrapped around their paper cups, everything (for a lack of a better way to describe it) fits. The same can be said for their two official apps. Read more on Lifestyle Review: myStarbucks…

Work your way through thirty-one levels in this musical puzzle. As the suns light up, different parts of music begin to play; when you light up all the suns, you get to hear the full song. This game is really beautifully-executed.

It's hip to be square

It's hip to be square

When I first got this game, I got whupped over and over by the computer. Needless to say I became a bit discouraged by all this suckage, and didn't want to play the game at all anymore. Luckily perseverance pays off, and now I'm stuck on the 2nd level of the game (amazing I know).

Word Solitaire by Candywriter

Much like this name suggests, instead of playing solitare with numbers, in this game you play with letters— and it's a lot more challenging than it sounds. At least, it was for me. So many tries and I still couldn't get past the first level! Some word fanatic I am.

I really enjoy this game, being such a big fan of regular solitaire. Your objective is to use every single card on the board to make words. Like solitaire, you can move selections of cards from the row. Drag and drop letter cards onto a row to either build a word, or be in the process of building a word; if no words start with the letters you're placing (like trying to put an R over an N or vice versa), you will not be able to place the letter on that row. When you've made a valid word, a purple circle will appear over top the row with a number inside. This number adds to your score at the bottom of the screen.

Twitterrific by The Iconfactory

Since I caved to peer pressure and got myself a Twitter account, the only app I used on my iPod was Tweetie; a while back, my dad had purchased it and told me it was very good, so I photo(7)never wasted time looking around for something else. It suited my purposes, was very practical, and easy to use, if a little plain. Today I was browsing for a new free IM client and stumbled across Twitterrific, instead.
