Have you been wondering how big the difference really is between the iPhone 3G and the new 3G S? Turns out the "S" does mean speed! I've been wondering if it was worth the upgrade price, which is quite steep here in Canada (thanks Rogers!) These 2 articles clearly show how the new iPhone 3G S is better; and where it isn't.

Over the last 10 years, I've read much speculation about where, first Apple and now the iPhone were heading. Honestly, most of it is crap.

There is one source that stands out: Daniel Eran Dilger.His analysis is the clearest thinking available. He's foreseen the iPhone's direction way before everyone else.

What about you? What are your thoughts on this subject?

While surfing the net earlier today, I stumbled across this little gem: iControl Pad. It's a game controller unit (think along the lines of a classic SEGA handheld) you can set your iPhone in and uses the serial port on the back to gain access to the phone. The creators of this device also say that there is no modification required, the iControl Pad acts like a case for your iPhone

Apple shared a few tidbits this week starting with the app store rating system.

One of the frustrating "features" for both customers and developers has been how an app's rating in iTunes doesn't reset when new versions come out.

"iPhone users have short attention spans.

At least that's the conclusion from data collected by Pinch Media, a company that helps developers track the use of their iPhone applications.

Pinch found that of the users who download free applications from the App Store, only 20 percent use the app the next day, and far fewer do as the days pass. For paid applications, the return rate is only slightly better: 30 percent of people use the application the day after they buy it. The drop-off rate for paid applications is about as steep as for free applications after the first day."
