At long last, CNN has put out their official news reader. With sections for top headline stories and all story categories like on their website, 'My CNN' which provides news pertaining your current location (US only; it will still work if you're close enough to the border, but will give you information about whichever US city is closest to you; for me, it's Bellingham), for video reports on certain headline stories and different categories for that, and iReport in which you can read and submit your own reports and opinions on current events. myStarbucks by Starbucks Coffee Company
I'll be the first to admit that, when it comes to a great cup of coffee, Starbucks just isn't all that high up on my list to reach for. When there are so many different independent cafes to choose from, settling for something not-as-great just because it's famous doesn't cut it for me. Even if there is a Starbucks on practically every street corner in Vancouver.
That said, I can say that Starbucks has an excellent sense of style— from the decor of their locations, to the sleeves wrapped around their paper cups, everything (for a lack of a better way to describe it) fits. This is another brain entrainment application, labeled as a Brain Power Mind Aid.
On the app store and their website they claim that their technology is based on the work of J. C. R. Licklider who did research on psychoacoustics at MIT in the late 1950’s.
(He’s more famous as one of the main drivers of the concept of massively networked computers and head of ARPA — which begat the internets)
