Memory Matrix by Lumosity

Improve your working memory easily and simply every day with this fun and challenging game. The goal is simple: there are many levels to get through (the highest I've gotten to is ten), many different patterns to memorize in an instant before they disappear and you have to reproduce the pattern by tapping the corresponding squares. If you pass, you move on to the next level. If you fail, you regress to the previous level.

Brain Tutor 3D by Rainer Goebel, Brain Innovation
Brain Tutor allows you to learn about the human brain in a very interesting way. Take a look inside the brain at all the different areas, and do your own MRIs (very cool!). The 3D model of the brain is very accurate and lets you look at and read about each part of the brain.
The really cool bit is where you are able to slice the brain into different chunks, and move through it at a whim. This is helpful in learning about the brain and looks really cool! I am a very visual person, I learn the most from seeing what I'm trying to learn about, so this app is really handy for me in helping me learn about the brain's functionality.

Starquake by Magnificent Library

I'll be honest; astronomy has never been a particular interest of mine. It brings to mind summer camping trips to the middle of nowhere with my grandparents and being forced to sit through endless star charts and lectures and demonstrations.
