Do you want to be happier on a day-to-day basis? Like everything, maintaining a more positive outlook takes work— but you don't have to do it alone. This positive psychology app is tailored to your personal needs through a short series of three quizzes. From there, it's simply a case of taking the time to fill out the six activities every day (or every other day, or once a week— whatever suits you best).

To start, either browse the 'Ask' section, which provides a Q&A section with Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky (who is one of the psychologists behind the project. You can either ask your own question (select questions are answered each week), or read through her answers), or tap the smiley face in the middle of the activities screen. This will lead you through to the quizzes (find the best activities suited for your needs and help develop your tailored plan; assess your overall happiness and current emotional state; discover your personality traits (like a watered-down version of the very long quiz on the Signal Patterns website; provides similar results), and from there, to the activities best suited for you.

From there, you can go just about anywhere. Explore— go to this section first. It provides a brief video explanation of each activity on the menu wheel. Savor— replay the happiest moments in your life. photo5 Social— nurture your personal relationships, or plan to perform acts of kindness for family, friends, or strangers. Strive— make goals for yourself and a step-by-step plan of how to accomplish them. Thank— write in your gratitude journal every few days and always be grateful of the blessings in your life. Optimism— learn how to be your best possible self with one simple question: In the best possible situation, where do you see yourself in five years?

There is also a paid version for this app at $6.99 which has quite a few additional features. However, the bare minimum that they have provided seems to be enough for me. This is a great app that I think everyone should have. 4/5
