Mega Man II Lite by Capcom Interactive, Inc.

Bad dog!

When I saw that Capcom had released a Lite version of this title, I decided to give it a try. Despite reading horrid reviews for the game, some even going so far to say the game is unplayable… I figured what the heck, let's see if these people know what they are talking about. Well I'm disappointed to say that they were right.

Mega Man II was a classic on the NES (the original Nintendo entertainment system). It played great, looked great, and the sounds and music were right on the money. Unfortunately the same can't be said about this. This game is garbage; Capcom's attempt at a cash grab I suppose.

It really ticks me off when developers, especially ones that have the cash flow to spend on making their final product great, wuss out and release a crappy product. What the hell Capcom? You guys have millions and millions of dollars and you couldn't even re-release Mega Man II, (one of their most popular game series) with working controls?

The controls aren't the only problem though. The music is erratic, and the frame rates for the game fluctuate quite a bit, making the game much slower than the original on NES. When you try and jump, it's way higher than in the NES version, allowing you access to places you shouldn't be able to go.

Also, if you hold the fire button a constant stream of rounds will be fired. This title is like a bad emulation of a great game! The controls are awkward and not very responsive at all.

This whole thing was a huge disappointment for me. I loved Mega Man! Personally I don't think that anyone should support crappy games like this. Capcom needs to get their heads out of their butts and actually release a working version of this game.

The good: Free, the game looks great, just like it did on NES, but that's not enough to make it an enjoyable experience.

The bad: The controls, music, frame rates… well pretty much everything is wrong with this game.

The breakdown: I urge you not to waste your time on this garbage. It's people that support crappy games that makes companies think that it's ok to do that, or possibly that people are too dumb to know the difference between quality and crap. 1/5
