Utility Review: FreeMemory
FreeMemory 1.4 by JT Teh
Have you ever had problems getting apps to start? How about when they seem to get unresponsive or even fail to load?
The iPhone and iPod Touch have 128 Mb of runtime ram. It's one of the issues that led Apple to make compromises due to the device small size and cost constraints. They do not use virtual memory from the 8, 16 or 32 Gb or storage memory in your device. Apple also does not allow access to individual processes to kill them.
For us users, it means that apps can flat use up all the memory… either because recently stopped ones do not let go of ram properly, or new ones just need a lot of ram to run. There are quite a few apps that recommend that you restart your phone before playing them… using FreeMemory is a much faster way to accomplish the same thing.

Actually, it reminds me of running my computers 20 years ago! This is a temporary problem. If not the next gen, for sure the one after that will begin to have ample ram, (and/or the ability to kill a process) to run more and more complex apps. Count on it!
FreeMemory solves this problem for now. You launch the app and it will free up to 20 Mb of ram for new application use. This is very useful and handy. It makes your device run better and it helps to get the most out of some of the more complicated apps.
For the next while, and for .99 cents… this is a must have utility!
I give it a 5/5.
