Wapedia by Taptu Limited

wapedia-article
In contrast to some of the other Wikipedia applications I've downloaded in the past, none are quite like Wapedia in terms of loading speed, searches, and overall look. Wapedia has done what seemed to be the impossible in other apps: they have taken the same elements we've come to know and love of online Wiki articles, and scaled them to fit the iPhone or iPod Touch.

I've been very disappointed with other Wiki apps. There was always something wrong with them, be it from lack of pictures, or terrible layout. Wapedia seems to be different. Taptu Limited has offered support on mobile devices since 2004, and in those five years they seem to have perfected the application. wapedia-home

With many nifty features (including but not limited to In the News: a section of recent events, On This Day… which offers a list of things that happened on that day in history, random page: which offers you a list of Wiki articles at random, and Did You Know?: a section for you trivia junkies out there), an easy to read search display, and an elegant article layout (if it is a long article, it will be separated into several pages of equal length; most are four pages) scaled perfectly for your iPhone screen, I don't see myself going back to those other Wiki apps any time soon.

It's very stable, and doesn't take up much memory; it's completely free, and has no ads; there are pictures in the articles; it doesn't take very long to load at all.

A very solid application that I can see myself using for a very long time. For this, I'm giving Wapedia 5/5
5 out of 5

Now it's your turn. I want to know what you think. Comment below with a quick response...

Mark, what a generous review! Thank you very much for the feedback, we've been working hard to make it as fast, reliable & hopefully funky, so it's great to see that you're enjoying using it.

We'd love to invite you to look at future features when we develop them – Tempting? if you're interested, do drop me an email.

Thanks,
Vero
