FingerPiano Lite by Junpei Wada/JYProduct

Bored with the games out there? Wish for something that sounds… a little sweeter?

Teach yourself some simple songs on the piano with FingerPiano Lite. With six songs available in the free version, it's safe to say you'll be occupied for at least a little while!

Out of the three free piano applications I've tried, this is definitely one of my favorites. Not simply because it teaches me to play a part of one of my favorite songs (Nocturne Op 9), but also because it seamlessly allows you to travel up and down the keyboard without having to pause and press any special buttons.

It might not sound too hindering like that, but it's sure frustrating when you're right in the middle of plunking out your favored song by ear!

The biggest thing I dislike about this app is how tiny the keys are in comparison to the 'Next Note to Play' bar. The tone of the notes sound more like a keyboard than a real piano, but it's not too noticeable (if you're a novice player).

I've yet to take my newfound 'skills' to a real keyboard, so I'm not sure whether or not you'll actually learn anything that works on a piano unless you've already had some training— but who knows? Give it a try!

I'm going to give this app a 3.5/5
