Game Review: Brain Tuner Lite
Brain Tuner Lite by Elliot Lee/Gengar Studios
Do you ever have a moment when you need do to some form of pretty simple maths — and for some reason or other, can't come up with the answer right off the top of your head?
With Brain Tuner Lite, and for as little as 20 seconds a day, you can strengthen your math skills — and keep your brain more active. This application is a lot like Brain Age for Nintendo DS.
With 20, 60, and 100 problems to choose from (all the questions are the same level — but the challenge increases with the more questions you're faced with), combined with right and wrong answers, and a timer on top of that, this app can either be a confidence booster— or an ego-burster. It all depends on how many questions out of 20, 60, or 100 that you got right or wrong, and in how much time.
Not being very big on mathmatics myself, I was surprised at how much I enjoy this app. It's kind of become my new addiction: to answer 100 math equations, without getting any wrong, within a certain timeframe.
(My goal is a minute — so far I've managed a minute and a half.)
This application is easy to use, it doesn't crash, and doesn't have a lot of annoying sound effects. Ok, there are sounds — when the app is starting up your round of equations, and when you get a question right or wrong. For me, the sounds were very encouraging — I did a lot better with my headphones on than when I had them off.
The paid version of this game lets you participate and submit your scores to see how you rank against the rest of the world.
(I don't know about you, but at least for me, I think I'm better off not knowing!)
I rate this app 5/5 for being what I hadn't expected — fun!
