Game Review: iMob Online

iMob Online by Addmired Inc.

iMob Online is a unique game. You get to be a virtual gangster and commit crimes to make money. Plus there’s elements to add friends and others to play multiplayer.

You start off with a set amount of energy, funds, and 10 respect points. After purchasing a weapon you’re off to the races!

First you do small time jobs like purse snatching and home invasions, and then work your way up to grand theft auto and bank robberies. Just like Tony Soprano.

Through doing these activities you gain cash and experience. When you level up you'll have the choice of increasing your attack strength, max energy, max stamina, defense power, or health.

Buying properties is a great way to make money; in this game and in life! You earn income from each property you own, and most of them can be upgraded into better properties. For example you can upgrade a landfill into a bed and breakfast (be a green mobster – sorta). Or an uptown district into a casino.

There is a bank to deposit newly acquired cash into, and it’s a wise choice to do so. That way other iMobbers can't steal it from you! It’s also useful because doctors and lawyers won't take straight cash.

The only downsides to putting your hard earned bucks in the bank is the 15% fee on all you put in. Also you need to have at least 10 grr to start an account.

To increase your iMob you can invite friends through wifi, friend code or GPS! This is a pretty cool little addition. The more people you have in your mob, the more jobs you can do and the more damage you can inflict on other rival mobs.

Respect points can be exchanged for money – 20 grand for 10 points, or to get powerful upgrades such as a henchman for 20 points, or a full energy refill for 10 points.

Right now the only way to get more respect points is to buy them off the iTunes store. This is pretty lame. I mean I understand that the developers of the game want to make money but, it gives an unfair advantage to players that are willing to cough up the dough in order to advance.

I think it would be better if there were a way in the game to earn respect points, such as a timer for them like a day per point.

The good: This game is unique in that you can invite friends and other people in the same area as you to join your mob.

The bad: To regain energy, cash, and health there is a timer for each. Energy is given back 1 point at a time at 5 min intervals. Health periodically regenerates over the course of 1 hour. So does cash. And you have to buy respect.

The thing is, if you’re out playing this somewhere using your 3g, iMob is really more like iRob. If you turn the game off, the counters suspend themselves. So to get the most out of the game you have to keep it on for long periods of time. I’m just not that into it to keep it the only app running and sucking my battery down!

Unfortunately, you can easily cheat. Look on iTunes reviews for how. The game has been ruined by people getting billions of dollars and all the weapons. Until they fix that, this is not recommended.

The breakdown: For being a unique and interesting game, while still having some major flaws, I'm going to give this one a 2.0/5

Sorry to say that they fixed that glitch as of 2.0. If you have not updated then simply go to settings in your phone and change the date to the year 3001. Log back into the game and you should have accumulated a few million bucks. Let me know if it works out for ya.

Cheers
